Course Summary

As our society has become increasingly diverse, more and more organizations have expressed a desire to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and access (DEIA) in the workplace. Compost manufacturers, suppliers and customers are no exception. An important first step toward this goal is developing an understanding of foundational DEIA concepts.

That’s why we’ve partnered with the Oregon State University College of Business to offer this training. This short, self-paced module is directed at people in every type of role and at every level of their organization. It provides a short summary of the research on how successful DEIA initiatives advance business goals, the historical context for DEIA work, and definitions of several key terms and concepts that are commonly used in DEIA literature. The course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

We recommend the use of a tablet or laptop, not a phone, to most easily access this training.

Advance Meaningful Change

This training was developed for the US Composting Council by the Oregon State University Center for Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Business. We believe it takes all of us working together to advance meaningful change. This is why we are empowering students, alumni, business professionals and organizations with strategies, research and training to foster inclusiveness.
